You look something up, then find yourself reading then next entry, then the next entry....

If you are looking for a nautical encyclopedia - buy this one.
The entries are well written and accurate. The "down side" is that I often find myself reading page after page and not getting on with what I was doing that necessitated looking something up in the first place. A great read, I originally bought this when getting ready to fly out to a ship years ago. Somewhere along the line I left it on a ship and have been keeping an eye out for it ever since. The used copy I received was in great shape - they want $164 for a new one which is silly.

Invaluable Reference

This encyclopedia is indispensable. Whenever I encounter a word I am unfamiliar with, this is a quick and easy way to find out what it is referring to. Very complete, absolutely a great tool for anyone interested in nautical terms.
